About Me
My Journey: From Pain to Performance I’ve been a Martial Artist for 26 years, specializing in Muay Thai and Filipino Martial Arts. But my real path into therapy began 15 years ago during a five year battle with lower back pain. An MRI at the time revealed a central L5/S1 prolapsed disc that appeared "black" and degenerative. I was convinced my spine was “weak” and I wouldn’t be able to fully train again.
Everything changed when I met a Pilates and Sports Massage Therapist who introduced me to modern pain science and Pilates. I learned that my MRI results were a normal part of life, like "grey hair for the spine" and that my pain was about sensitivity, not permanent damage. I even found that resting for months made me feel worse! By returning to my training, focusing on what I could do, and building hip mobility and strength, I got my life back. Today, and for the last 6 years, I am back to full fitness and am a certified M.K.G. International Associate Instructor.
My Approach: Therapy & Movement I am a Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist and am currently undergoing extensive clinical training for a Level 5 Movement Therapy Diploma. I am actually studying the exact same advanced diploma that my own therapist did, allowing me to bridge the gap between manual therapy and movement.
I don’t believe in "one size fits all" treatments. Whether you are coming to see me for a relaxing deep tissue massage to ease a stressful week, or you need a deeper dive into a long term niggle, I tailor every session to you.
Whether we meet at Broadstone Physio & Chiropractic Clinic or my own treatment room in West Canford Heath, I combine hands on massage with movement education to help:
- Calm the system: Using massage to provide relief and reduce nervous system sensitivity.
- Build Confidence: Helping you understand your body so you can move without fear (even if you've had a scary sounding MRI result).
- Restore Mobility: Drawing on my experiences through Martial Arts and Pilates, alongside the clinical knowledge from my Diploma to help you move with ease and strength.
More Than Just "Sports" Massage You don’t need to be an athlete to see me. I find it incredibly rewarding to help everyone from office workers and tradespeople to women navigating the changes of peri-menopause. My goal is to create a compassionate, judgment free space where you can feel safe and supported.
